Frequently Asked Questions

1. How is the Library Funded?
The Osterville Village Library is a private, 501(c)(3) corporation that receives partial funding from the Town of Barnstable. This partial funding amounts to less than 35% of our operating budget. We can’t operate without it, but that still leaves us $700,000 to raise every year. We raise a portion of that amount with our car raffle, golf tournament and other events, but still depend primarily on our annual appeal to provide the majority of our funding.

2. Do you have a Fax Machine/Shredder/Copy Machine?
Yes! Located in our Small Business Center we have a fax/copy/scanner machine, and a shredder. On our lower level we have a copy machine. Ask one of our librarians to show you where they are located.

3. Where do I go for assistance with technology?
One of our reference librarians would be more than happy to assist you. You may either drop in for a short session, or make an appointment for a longer, more involved problem.

4. How do I find out what is happening at the Library?
Here's our events page for upcoming events. Don't forget to add your email to receive our constant contact!

Yes, we have an elevator that goes to all three floors, and a ramp leading into the back entrance way. Both entrances are equipped with automatic door openers.
